Reassigning approvals is a valuable tool for ensuring that all pending requests are handled efficiently and without delay. Common use cases for reassigning approvals include situations where an approval was routed incorrectly, or when an approver will be out of office for an extended period of time and an immediate approval is needed. This article details the process for reassigning approvals for pending recognitions and Earn requests to a different approver or set of approvers.
Reassigning Approvers
To reassign an approval:
- Log in to your account and navigate to your Approvals queue.
- Click on the “All Pending” tab.
- Locate the pending recognition or earn request for which you wish to reassign the approver(s).
- Click the stacked three-dot icon (Actions menu) next to the approval.
- From the dropdown menu, select “Edit Approvers.”
- In the pop-up window, use the search bar to select the names of the new approver(s) from the list. You can select multiple approvers if needed.
- (Optional) Add a note in the provided text field explaining the reason for reassigning the approvers. Please note: This note is internal and will only be visible to other administrators and approvers with access to the approval details.
- Click “Save” to confirm the reassignment.
The recognition or earn request will now appear in the approval queue of the newly assigned approver(s).

- A: The ability to reassign approvals is controlled by your user permissions. Speak to your Awardco Admin. They’ll need to enable the “Edit Approvers” permission on your role type.
