In the Awardco platform it is possible for your organization to assign points to specific redemption options. When enabled, certain points can only be spent on certain items. Ineligible points are points that have been assigned to a redemption option other than the one you're viewing. For example, your organization may restrict points received for a service anniversary award to be available only for redemption on items in the Amazon redemption option. In this case, where your points are restricted and can only be spent on items from Amazon, these points would be ineligible for use with any other redemption option such as gift cards or a company store.
Find Your Ineligible Points
To see if your points are limited, click on any redemption option and look at the "My Wallet" information just under the home tab in the top left corner of the page. If you have points that are restricted to a specific redemption option, you will see total points, ineligible points, and available points sections under the "My Wallet" header. "Total Points" shows your account balance, "Ineligible Points" shows the number of points that cannot be used in the redemption option you are currently viewing, "Available Points" shows the number of points that may be used in the redemption option you are currently viewing.
If your wallet has no breakdown and shows a point value next to it, this article does not apply to you.
Understanding Your Available Balance For Each Option
If you're unsure of how the points in your account can be used, remember to the "Available Points" section in "My Wallet" breakdown on the left side of the page. This section will adjust to show you the total number of points you can use in the redemption option you're viewing. Click the "Spend Points" tab and select an option from the drop down menu. On each page, the "Available Points" section will show you how many points you can use on that page.
Ineligible points - This screenshot shows a user who is trying to redeem a gift card with points that are assigned to a different redemption option. "Available Points" shows zero points. This means the points in the user's balance cannot be used for the rewards shown on this page. The user will need to find a different redemption option.
Eligible points - This screenshot shows a user who is using their points in the proper redemption option. "Available Points" shows 20 points. This means the user will be able to use 20 points to redeem the rewards shown on this page.
