Is there an item you’d like to purchase on your recognition platform, but you don’t have enough points? Do you have a small point balance remaining in your wallet and feel like you have nothing to spend them on? Maybe you don’t have any points in your balance, and want to buy something new. Reference this article to find out how you can supplement purchases of Amazon, Swag Store items, and Priceline hotels with your personal debit or credit card.
Note: Not all of Awardco’s client base utilize this feature. Please verify this is a feature your organization has implemented.
Purchasing Points
If you find yourself not having sufficient points for an Amazon, Swag Store item, or Priceline hotel, you should see a notice in your shopping cart notifying you of your inadequate balance. To purchase points to make up the difference, proceed to checkout.
Enter or select your desired shipping address, click Check Out: Review Order You’ll receive the notice for a second time: “You don't have enough Points to cover this order. Remove items from your cart or purchase Points in the final part of the checkout.” Select Checkout: Pay Remaining Balance.
The next screen will provide a payment breakdown with:
- The order total
- The total available points applied from your existing wallet balance
- The points needed to complete the purchase
- The amount you'll pay from your personal debit or credit card
- The processing fee
- The total amount due
If your local currency is different from USD, you'll see the payment amount displayed in both your local currency and USD. Please note that the displayed amount in your local currency is based on current exchange rates and may vary slightly at the time of purchase.
You'll need to acknowledge several items before proceeding:
- The amount that will be charged to your card
- That any order return will result in a refund to your platform wallet balance and not to your debit or credit card (purchase points are nonrefundable)
- If applicable, that you may incur additional fees or charges based on your card issuer's terms
Enter your card information. Most global networks and card brands are accepted when purchasing points. All accepted debit and credit cards are listed here. Select Pay & Complete Order. Order details will promptly be sent to the email address provided in checkout.
Important Details to Note
Before you pursue the option to purchase additional points, there are a few items to keep in mind:
- Not all of Awardco's client base utilize this feature. Please verify this is a feature your organization has implemented.
- A processing fee will be added to your points purchase. Fees consist of a base charge of $0.40 USD plus 5% of the points purchase total.
- Purchased points will be refunded to your platform wallet and not your personal card if an order where purchased points were applied is returned.
- Purchase Points are currently only available for redemption of Amazon, Awardco managed Swag Store items, and Priceline hotels. The feature is not available for redemption of eGift cards, Virtual Prepaid Cards, Tickets, and Cash.
- Purchasing Points for redemption of Amazon, Swag Store items, and Priceline Hotels is available in the United States and additional select countries. The points purchased will always be in U.S. Dollars ($). You will incur any conversion fees your debit or credit card charges.
- If there's an existing point balance in your platform wallet, the feature will always use the first points available and then supplement with purchased points. You cannot choose to NOT spend eligible points for certain Award Networks.
- It's possible to utilize this feature with a zero balance in your platform's wallet. You're able to completely pay for purchases with your personal debit or credit card.
