The Awardco Mobile App is a tool designed to increase employee engagement by making recognition faster and more accessible. For clients on Awardco 2.0, the mobile app is enabled by default, allowing users to log in immediately upon installing it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
As an admin, you have full control over two key settings that govern access and security for the mobile app: Mobile App Access and Mobile Session Expiration.
Controlling Mobile App Login Access
The Mobile App Access toggle determines whether users within your organization can successfully log into the application. If the toggle is set to OFF, users attempting to log in will receive a message stating that access has been restricted by their organization.
To enable/disable mobile app access:
- Log into your Awardco account.
- On the homepage, select the Admin button at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
- From the left navigation menu, select "Platform."
- Select "Advanced Settings."
- Scroll down to the Account Settings section.
- Find the Mobile App Access toggle.
-
Set the toggle to ON (allow login) or OFF (restrict login).
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Configuring Mobile Session Expiration
The Mobile Session Expiration setting is a security control that dictates how often users are required to re-authenticate with your organization's standard login method (e.g., SSO, username/password). We recommend setting this time frame to be much longer than your general platform session timeout to maximize the convenience of the app.
To set the mobile session expiration:
- Log into your Awardco account.
- On the homepage, select the Admin button at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
- From the left navigation menu, select "Platform."
- Select "Advanced Settings."
- Scroll down to the Account Settings section.
-
Locate the Mobile Session Expiration field and enter your desired time frame (e.g., 365 days).
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Key Notes for Admins
- Awardco 2.0 Required: Only organizations on the most recent Awardco platform version (2.0) can utilize the mobile app.
- Admin UI Restriction: The mobile app is designed only for the end-user experience. Administrators cannot access the Admin UI or perform administrative tasks through the mobile app.
- White-Labeling: The mobile app does not support white-labeling (fixed name, icon, splash screen). If full white-labeling is a requirement, the Progressive Web App (PWA) is the recommended alternative.
