View User Import History
Once enabled, User Import History becomes your go-to tool for tracking and managing user changes: Visit the Users page to find a dedicated widget that serves as a quick link to the full import history. The widget displays the five last imports. Click View Full History to proceed.
This page view shows a comprehensive history of all user file imports, the date they were initiated, the source of the import, a description (the file name, size, and the name of the user that initiated the import), and the import status. Click the three dots to the right of any import to view the import summary, download a particular user file upload, or delete the user file.
Admins with access to this page can manually delete a user file at any time. Deleting a file will not remove or update any data currently attached to users, but will remove the file itself. Files will be automatically deleted 90 days after they are uploaded. If you would like to decrease how long user files are stored before being auto-deleted, please reach out to the TCSM team.
Troubleshooting Issues with User Import History
It’s possible you may run into disruptions to your organization’s recognition programs relating to users not receiving awards on time. Maybe a user didn’t receive an onboarding email, a service award notification, or a birthday message. It’s possible a user received an incorrect notification and was erroneously recognized. Here are some questions to ask to start finding a solution to these problems:
- Is the user’s id correct?
- Is the user’s hire date correct?
- Is the user’s birth date correct?
- Was the user’s information uploaded in time to be recognized for an onboarding award?
After reviewing user data and the current user file import and you find that at some point data was incorrectly uploaded, the User Import History is a great place to identify when. You’ll be able to easily track down the date errors were uploaded by viewing the upload summary and the uploaded file by clicking the three dot icon next to any import. From there you’ll be able to make decisions and improvements on processes that prevent such inaccuracies in the future.
