Integrating Microsoft Outlook with Awardco (Legacy)

Awardco's integration with Outlook allows users to recognize their peers directly without leaving the application. It is compatible with the desktop, web, and mobile versions of Outlook. Reference this article to find out how easy it is to add the Awardco app to your organization’s Outlook platform.

Note: For a more comprehensive in-app experience, consider using the Microsoft Bundle Integration. Unlike the integration described in this article, the bundle integration provides full access to the Awardco platform directly within Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Microsoft 365. While the bundle offers integration with all three applications, you can choose to implement Awardco in just Outlook.

Important Version Support Information:

• The Outlook Add-In does not support Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016 Commercial, and Outlook 2019 Commercial.
• The Microsoft Bundle Integration does not support Outlook on MacOS, iOS, or non-Chromium-based browsers (Safari, Firefox).
• For clients using these unsupported versions, we recommend upgrading to Microsoft 365 and using the Microsoft Bundle Integration.

1. Install Awardco for Outlook
2. Add Awardco For Outlook as an Email Action
3. Recognize in Awardco for Outlook

Install Awardco for Outlook‌

Note - Only Microsoft domain administrators can complete the following steps in Outlook‌

Begin installing Awardco for Outlook by:

1. Clicking on the Admin portal button on the homepage and selecting the Settings tab.
2. Select Integrations Library and click Microsoft Outlook.
3. Click Begin Setup. 
4. Enter your company's email domain and click Continue.  
5. Click the link for the Outlook application page. 
6. Select the 'Get it now' button‌.
7. Once signed in, select who you want to install the app for: yourself, the entire organization, or specific users. Awardco's recommendation is the entire organization so everyone has access to the integration!
8. Click Next then review the app permissions‌.
9. Select Next again, then review, and click Finish deployment.
10. Once the above steps are completed, you may close this popup‌

Add Awardco for Outlook as an Email Action

You can add Awardco to the quick actions of an email so that it always appears.

1. Click on an email.
2. Click the ellipses icon in the top right corner of the email actions. 
3. Click Customize actions.
4. Select the checkbox next to Awardco and click Save.

Recognize in Awardco for Outlook

1. Open an email. Outlook requires that you have an email selected and open for the integration to be used.
2. Click the Awardco quick action (see setup steps above) or click the icon with four squares to open the apps menu then click Awardco for Outlook.

3. If you have not connected your account, you will need to do so.
   1. Click Connect.
   2. Click Accept.
   3. Select who you want to recognize.
   4. Select a program (if available).
   5. Write a message and answer any other questions in the recognition form.
   6. Submit your recognition.
