In the dynamic world of user management, clear insight is essential for a smooth and effective workflow. The User Import History feature is a powerful tool designed to provide complete visibility into all aspects of user data changes. With User Import History, you have a central location that logs every user import, offering a comprehensive overview of these changes. Refer to the following sections to get started.
The Value
Here are some key benefits of using User Import History:
- Clear Visibility Into User Data: Gain a precise understanding of all activities related to changes in user data. Eliminate uncertainty and reduce reliance on individual knowledge.
- Centralized Logging of User Changes: Benefit from a single repository that records every user modification, ensuring nothing is overlooked. Efficiently manage user imports from various sources within one unified interface.
View User Import History
Once enabled, User Import History becomes your primary tool for tracking and managing user changes:
- On the homepage, select the Admin button at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
- Select Users, then User Management from the left navigation menu.
- Click the Change Log tab.
This page displays a complete history of all user file imports, including the date of initiation, the import source, a description (containing the file name, size, and the name of the user who initiated the import), and the import status. Click the three dots to the right of any import to access options for viewing the import summary, downloading the specific user file upload, or deleting the user file.
Super Admins or authorized users can delete a user file anytime. Deleting a file removes only the file, not any related user data. Files are auto-deleted 90 days after upload. To shorten this period, contact the TCSM team.
Troubleshooting Issues with User Import History
You might encounter disruptions in your organization's recognition programs, such as users not receiving awards on time. This could manifest as a user missing an onboarding email, a service award notification, or a birthday message. It's also possible a user received an incorrect notification or was recognized in error. To begin resolving these issues, consider the following questions:
- Is the user's ID correct?
- Is the user's hire date correct?
- Is the user's birth date correct?
- Was the user's information uploaded in time for onboarding award recognition?
After reviewing user data and the current user file import, if you discover that incorrect data was uploaded at some point, the User Import History is an excellent resource for identifying when this occurred. You can easily pinpoint the dates when errors were uploaded by viewing the upload summary and the uploaded file itself by clicking the three-dot icon next to any import. This information will enable you to make informed decisions and implement process improvements to prevent such inaccuracies in the future.
