This article guides you through the process of creating new core value hashtags within your Awardco platform. These hashtags can be added to recognitions to emphasize your organization's core values and beliefs. The use of your organization's core value hashtags can be tracked using the platform's reporting features.

Creating Hashtags
- Log in to your Awardco platform.
- On the homepage, select the "Admin button" at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
- In the left navigation menu, click “Customize” and then “Hashtags.” Here, you'll see a list of all active hashtags selected for your organization.
- To create a new one, click the “Add Hashtag” button on the right side of the page.
- In the "Add Hashtag" window, enter the hashtag name (99 character limit) and a description. You can also add an optional image.
- The image will be automatically formatted to 256px x 256px and displayed as a rounded circle icon. If no image is associated with a hashtag, no icon will appear in the feed.
- Once you've entered the information, be sure to click “Save.”
How Hashtags Appear in Recognitions
When a hashtag is selected for a recognition, it will appear within that recognition in the feed. If an image is attached to the hashtag, this image will display as a rounded circle icon next to the hashtag. In the feed, the hashtag image will appear on the right side of the banner area. If multiple tags are selected, they will be displayed in the order they were created. Hovering your cursor over the icon will show the name of the tag. If a selected tag doesn't have an associated image, no icon will appear in the banner area, but the hashtag name will still be visible in the Tag Text area.
Note: Only hashtags created within the system will be included in your platform reporting. Hashtags typed in by you or your employees that haven't been created in your Awardco platform cannot be searched or counted.
Adding Hashtags to Recognition and Earn Programs
To make your created hashtags available for selection when users access a Recognition or Earn program:
- Log in to your Awardco platform.
- On the homepage, select the "Admin" button at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
- In the left navigation menu, click “Platform” and then either “Recognition Programs” or “Earn Programs.”
- Click the three stacked dots next to the program you want to edit and select “Edit.”
- Navigate to the “Display” tab and scroll down to the Tags section.
- Adjust the hashtag selection setting as needed:
- Select "Optional" if you want hashtag selection to be optional.
- Select "Required (1)" if you want users to select at least one hashtag.
- Select "Required 1+" if you want users to be able to select one or more hashtags.
- Enter the Tag Label (the name that will be used to refer to tags throughout the platform).
- Select the specific tags you want to make available for selection within that particular program.
- Toggle Display Tag Icon to "On" if you want the icon associated with the hashtag to be displayed.
- Toggle Display Tag Text to "On" if you want the hashtag text to be displayed.
- Click “Save Changes” when you are finished.
