What are Smart Award Networks?
The Awardco Smart Award Networks feature gives administrators the ability to assign the types of redemption options that can be redeemed from each program type. With this feature, points from specific program types are flagged as redeemable only in their designated redemption network. For example, let's take a look at the example shown above. Let's say you would like to limit the redemption of points from a tenure/service program to tangible products from Amazon, but you want your employees to be able to redeem eGift cards for points received in a peer-to-peer spot recognition program. The Smart Award Network can accommodate this, and does so automatically behind the scenes. When an employee goes to redeem items, they will see their points broken down by eligibility for redemption on certain networks in the platform.
Smart Award Network Use Cases
Here are some possible instances for when Smart Award Networks would be useful:
Points awarded for Onboarding can only be redeemed for company-branded apparel and supplies (mugs, t-shirts, notebooks)
Points awarded for years of service can only be redeemed for physical items from Best Buy and/or Amazon
Points awarded through spot recognition (peer-to-peer and manager-to-peer) programs are open for all redemption options, both tangible items and eGift Cards
Configure the Award Network
If you haven’t already set up the award network you’d like to make a Smart Award Network, follow the steps below:
Select the “Admin” button at the bottom of the left navigation menu.
Select “Marketplace” on the left-hand side navigation
Select “Award Networks”
If the desired Award Network(s) are not configured with the redemption options, you can do so following these steps
Limit Program Points to the Award Network
Once the Award Network(s) are configured, go to the recognition program by selecting “Programs” on the left-hand side admin navigation
Select “Recognition Programs”
Select your desired Recognition Program where you want to limit points in that program to a specific Award Network
Select the “Points” tab and make sure points are toggled on
Select “Show Advanced Settings”, and select the desired “Award Network”
Once the Smart Award Network is set up, select “Save Changes”
