In this article, you will learn how to access the Recognition Program Utilization report and see an overview of the utilization of recognition programs by eligible nominators, giving insights to both managers and admins about how recognition and point limits are being used. This enables greater visibility to admins and managers to really understand the utilization of programs. Managers can now easily see which of their direct reports could use some encouragement to embrace more frequent recognition within a program. Overall, this report provides a key tool for measuring and increasing the usage of the Awardco platform. A sample Recognition Program Utilization report can be found here.

Data Filters
To access this report:
- Access “Admin Settings”
- Click on the “Reports” tab at the top of the screen.
- Find the “Recognition Program Utilization” report on the “Featured” tab
- Click “Open”
Before running the report, apply filters to narrow down your data. Unselected filters default to “Select All.” Available filters include:

Time Frame:
- This Period: Current period is the active period for every recognition program. For example if we had 3 programs, one is monthly, one is quarterly, one is yearly, then the current period right now would give us Aug 1-Aug-31, Jul 1-Sep 30, and Jan 1-Dec 31 data respectively for each program.
- Last Period: Last period will give you the last fully completed cadence for each program. Using the same example above, the last period would give us data for Jul 1-Jul 31, Apr 1-Jun 30, and Jan 1-Dec 31 2022.
- Time Zone: Use the drop-down menu to pull the report in your preferred time zone. UTC is recommended for reconciliation with Awardco reports.
- Date Format: Have the dates display in your preferred date format.
- Recognition Program: Will list all available recognition programs
- Program Status: Active or Archived
- Program Type: Will list all program types

Data Visibility: Filter data based on organizational hierarchy:
- Immediate Reports: View data for direct reports.
- All Reports: Access data for all users in your downline.
- Everyone: See data for the entire organization.
- Peers: Review data for colleagues with the same manager.
If you plan on exporting the Recognition Program Utilization report, use the drop-down menu on the right to select columns that will appear on your exported .csv file. The column options are as follows:

*If no column specifications are applied, these columns will load by default.
Once you’ve selected your preferred filters, select “Run the Report” to display the data. If you’d like to export the data in a .csv format, select “Export”. If you’d like to save these search parameters, select “Save View” and enter a name for your saved view. The next time you access the Recognition Program Utilization report you can access this saved view in the drop-down menu at the top right. If you “star” or favorite a saved view, it will be the default report that loads first and runs automatically. Key Data Metrics
- Programs- Total number of recognitions programs
- Total Participation- The number of nominators who gave at least one recognitions in the time period, divided by the total amount of eligible nominators in the same time period
- Point Utilization- The total number of points given that count towards a point limit in the time period, divided by the total amount of available points to give in the same time period.
- Recognition Utilization- The total number of recognitions given that count towards a recognition limit in the time period, divided by the total amount of available recognitions to give in the same time period.
Program Participation by Nominators
The data visualization here displays program participation by nominators in the form of a bar graph. Check the boxes on the left to show data for specific programs. The darker pigmented section on a given bar will represent the program participation percentage from the time period selected, while the lighter shade represents the program participation percentage from the previous time period. Participation is calculated by the number of nominators who gave at least one recognition in the period, divided by the total number of eligible nominators in the same period. Users who are eligible to nominate in multiple programs will be counted once for each program.
Program Utilization by Nominators
The data visualization here displays program utilization by nominators in the form of a bar graph. Check the boxes on the left to show data for specific programs. The darker pigmented section on a given bar will represent the program utilization percentage from the time period selected, while the lighter shade represents the program utilization percentage from the previous time period. Program Utilization is calculated by the total number of points or recognitions given in the period, divided by the total amount of available points or recognitions to give in the same time period.
Exporting Charts and Graphs
If you'd like to export any chart, graph, or data visualization as a single PNG image, click on the circular icon at the top right of any graph.
Programs
At the bottom of the page you’ll find the report’s raw data. Click on the arrow next to each program line item to view all utilization by each eligible nominator. Export this data in .csv/JSON format by clicking Export CSV. Use the search bar to search for keywords such as Program Name and Program Status.
