Accessing the Homepage Editor
To access the Homepage editor:
- Select the “Admin” button at the top right of the homepage
- Click the “Settings” tab
- Click “Branding” on the left hand side
- Select the “Go to Editor” button
This page displays a preview of the templated homepage with options to change the banner image and different widgets below. The option bar below allows you to view the homepage from a mobile device’s perspective, exit the editor, and publish changes made to the custom designed homepage. When alterations are made to the homepage, a yellow bar will appear at the bottom of the screen advising of unsaved changes. If you exit the editor without discarding changes or publishing, the changes will be saved as a draft that can be revisited later. Click “Publish Changes” at the bottom right of the screen when you’re satisfied with your homepage. Publishing the changes will update the current homepage for all users.
Banner
An image of your choosing can be uploaded in the banner section of the homepage by selecting the pencil icon at the top right corner of the banner. Next, select the pencil icon to the right of the default image.
Click “Upload Image.” The uploaded image must have a minimum width of 2000px, a minimum height of 600px, and be either a JPG or PNG image. The preview to the right will show how the image will appear on your homepage. Input accessibility text that will show a short image description for those with visual impairments. Enter custom text that overlays the image by utilizing the “Primary Text” and “Secondary Text” fields. Change the text align to left, center, or right, and choose the color of the text (black or white.) Once satisfied with banner settings click “Save.”
Note: The banner is a locked widget, meaning it cannot be removed.
Banner Variants
You can create multiple versions, or variants, of the banner based on a user’s metadata. This would be useful if there are multiple companies accessing the platform, and you’d like employees at the different organizations to see different banner images. It’s also possible that you’d like a variant image for employees in different countries. Click “Add Variant” to begin adding a banner variant and select a metadata tag. Next, specify the metadata value(s) that apply to the employees that you’d like to see the banner. Apply text settings, if desired, and click “Save.” These steps will need to be repeated for each metadata value you’d like to add a different banner for. Delete variants by selecting the trash can icon.
User Widget
This widget displays the user’s profile photo and greets them by name. Clicking the pencil icon allows you to add a sub-header that will appear under the greeting. The sub-header options are: point amount (“You Have 250 points to spend!”), “Happy (day of the week)!”, and today’s date (“Monday, September, 19, 2022). Selecting “none” will only display the greeting on the widget. The greeting will congratulate the user on their service anniversary or birthday.
Note: The banner is a locked widget, meaning it cannot be removed.
Recognize Widget
This widget is the familiar start of the recognition form. Users with access to recognition programs are easily able to begin recognizing without the added step of clicking the “Recognize” tab at the top of the screen. Once name(s) are entered, the platform will take the nominator to the screen that displays programs they are able to recognize in.
The appearance of this widget is tied to Recognition Program Settings (Admin > Settings > Recognition Programs). If Recognition Programs are enabled through the On/Off toggle, this form will appear on the homepage; if the setting is toggled “off” the widget won’t be available.
Note: The banner is a locked widget, meaning it cannot be removed if Recognition Programs are enabled.
Note: If Bulk Recognition settings such as advanced grouping or file upload are set up, those options won’t appear in the widget. Click “Recognize” in the tab at the top to recognize large groups of people via .csv file or advanced grouping.
Add Content
To help you create the exact homepage you’re looking for, a variety of widgets can be added to the left and right hand sections of the homepage. The following sections of this article will go over each widget type and their specific details.
Text/Image
This option allows you to enter custom text and a photo that populates a widget. This widget is highly versatile and can be used to display company values or list company updates/events. Click “Add Content” on either the left or right side and select “Add” next to “Text/Image”. Enter the header text that will appear at the top of the widget, type rich text with any text edit modifications, upload an image with a minimum width of 1200px, enter accessibility text (shows a short description of the image for those with visual impairments) if applicable, and input text in the “Text (below image)” field. Review the preview to the right, make any adjustments, and select “Save”.
Text/Image Variants
You can create multiple versions, or variants, of a text/image widget based on a user’s metadata. This would be useful if there are multiple companies accessing the platform, and you’d like employees in varying organizations or countries to see different information when accessing the recognition platform. Click “Add Variant” to begin adding a text/image widget variant and select the metadata tag. Next, specify the metadata value(s) that apply to the employees that you’d like to see the widget. Apply text and image settings and click “Save.” These steps will need to be repeated for each metadata value you’d like to add a different text/image widget for. Delete variants by selecting the trash can icon.
Claim AwardCode
If your organization utilizes AwardCodes, this widget will be helpful for when employees claim their points. Add this widget by selecting “Add Content” on the left side of the homepage (not available for placement on the right side), click “Add” next to “Claim AwardCode”, and the widget will appear on the bottom of the left section. Now employees can easily enter their AwardCode on the homepage.
Upcoming Milestones
Note: To apply this widget, you must be utilizing either our Service Awards automation, Birthday Automation, Onboarding Automation, and/or MemoryBooks feature. If MemoryBooks are enabled, you also must have the “Show MemoryBook Events on Feed'' feature toggled to “Show” (Admin > Settings > MemoryBook > General).
This widget displays service anniversaries, birthdays, and new hires based on the user file. The only exception is one-time MemoryBooks, which still rely on the recognition queue. All birthdays, new hires, and service anniversaries will be visible unless a user has opted out of birthdays, MemoryBooks, or private recognition entirely.
Adding this widget makes these milestones even more accessible by displaying them on the homepage. Select “Add Content” on the left side of the homepage (not available for placement on the right side), click “Add” next to “Upcoming Milestones,” and the widget will appear on the bottom of the left section. Visit the Feed settings to further determine what kind of milestones are visible on the widget.
Popular Choices
This widget displays popular redemption items. This will help give employees an idea of what others are spending their hard-earned points on. The three options displayed will change based on the redemption options available within your organization. Add this widget by selecting “Add Content” on the right side of the homepage (not available for placement on the left side), click “Add” next to “Popular Choices”, and the widget will appear on the bottom of the right section. Clicking “View All Items” will take the user to the “All” section of the Spent Points Landing page, and display all options in your organization’s Award Network.
Wish List
Many users save up their points for Amazon items of greater value. Currently, the way to access the wish list is by clicking the shopping cart icon at the top of the screen. With this widget, employees can readily view their wish list on the homepage. Add this widget by selecting “Add Content” in the right side of the homepage (not available for placement on the left side), click “Add” next to “Wish List”, and the widget will appear on the bottom of the right section. The last three wish list items added will display; click “View Your Wishlist” to view all items on the wish list.
Recognition Feed
It’s great to view the social feed and view all the positive recognitions and achievements of your peers. If the feed is made public in your organization, add this widget to make scrolling the feed more convenient. Add this widget by selecting “Add Content” on the right side of the homepage (not available for placement on the left side), click “Add” next to “Recognition Feed”, and the widget will appear on the bottom of the right section. We recommend positioning this widget at the bottom of the homepage for a better user experience. Since the feed will infinitely load content, placing widgets further down will cause them to not be seen.
Opportunities to Give
With this widget, users can easily and quickly see how many points they're eligible to give within each recognition program. This widget makes points to give distinct from available points to spend, and clear up any confusion in this area. Select “Add Content” on either the left or right sides of the page and click "Add" next to "Opportunities to Give". The breakdown provided is derived from any Nomination and/or Eligibility Limits, and if the user has access to a budget(s). The Available Points to Give breakdown for budgets is dependent on the Show Budget Amounts setting within the Recognition Programs rules. If the setting is On, then the budgets a user has access to will display in this widget. If the setting is Off, then the budgets a user has access to will not display in this widget. Note: You have the ability to edit the widget title to the name of your choosing.
Opportunities to Earn
With this widget, users can easily and quickly see how many points they're eligible to earn within each Earn program. Programs in this widget will appear based on program eligibility settings. Select “Add Content” on either the left or right sides of the page and click "Add" next to "Opportunities to Earn". Note: You have the ability to edit the widget title to the name of your choosing.
A-Pay
A-Pay is a virtual or physical card that directly connects to your Awardco point balance. It seamlessly complements our Lifestyle Spending Account feature, enhancing your ability, as an admin, to manage subscriptions and memberships. To enable the A-Pay widget, simply navigate to the "Add Content" section on the left side of the page and click "Add" next to "A-Pay". This will display a widget on the homepage, allowing users to view their A-Pay purchasing power, card details, and spending limits
Funding Health Widget
Displayed only to Admins with Access to the Billing Page, the Funding Health widget provides an overview of the funding health of the Company account. It helps admins quickly evaluate the status of their funding by visualizing their total funds against the outstanding points in employees’ wallets. This enhanced transparency results in fewer platforms zeroing out their funds which helps companies avoid employees not being able to redeem their points. Select “Add Content” on the left side of the page and click "Add" next to "Funding Health".
Catalog Banner
This widget allows for the promotion of specific catalogs on the homepage. These catalogs can be existing redemption options (Amazon, gift cards, etc.) or custom catalogs. The widget can be placed on either side of the page. Click Add Content. Select the Catalog Banner widget. You can pick between the available redemption options. The preview will show you what the widget would look like based on which side of the homepage it will be on. Once you pick your catalog, you can then add variants as needed. Position the widget on the homepage and publish your changes. Employees will now see this catalog on the homepage.
Notes: This works best when Spend Points Landing Page is enabled. We don't suggest using award network specific or metadata limited catalogs; it won't show anything for some users and will create a bad experience.
Engagement
The Engagement widget is a powerful tool that gives managers insight into how their direct reports are engaging with recognition programs on the Awardco platform. If this widget is added it will only display for users with direct reports. Select “Add Content” on the right side of the page and click "Add" next to "Engagement".
Deleting Widgets
Select the trash can icon at the top right of the widget to remove an added widget from the homepage. The following components and widgets are fixed and cannot be removed:
- Banner
- User widget
- Recognize Widget (if Recognition Programs are enabled)
Arranging the Order of Widgets
Desktop
To rearrange added widgets click on the Move Up/Down icon on the upper right corner of the widget and drag to achieve the desired order of homepage widgets. The Banner, User, and Recognize widgets are fixed and cannot be moved. Certain added widgets can only be moved on certain areas of the homepage editor.
Widgets strictly on the left side:
- Claim AwardCode
- Upcoming Milestones
Widgets strictly on the right side:
- Popular Choices
- Wish List
- Recognition Feed (recommended at the bottom)
While Text/Image widgets can be created on both sides of the homepage, these widgets can only be reordered on the side they were created.
Mobile
Widgets added will reflect on both the desktop and mobile views, but the arrangement can be different for both. The mobile version is in a stacked format and will automatically arrange the widgets the order they were added in. Click the mobile icon at the bottom to the screen to begin customizing the widget order of the mobile homepage.
Note: The Banner, User, and Recognize widgets will appear in that order on the mobile view and cannot be rearranged nor deleted.
